The profession of building cleaner involves a three year apprenticeship. Special importance is put on the acquisition of various practical skills, for example learning to use modern cleaning machines/tools. The theoretical expertise includes, among other things, an all-embracing knowledge of the nature and consistency of buildings, their individual components, and materials.

After a 3 year journeyman practice with many opportunities for advancement, an examination, to receive the degree of master, can be taken. After passing the exam, you can lead a career path as expert building cleaner (a position in high demand), or you can go into business for yourself.

An alternative is an apprenticeship as a registered cleaning and hygiene technician. Following a minimum 2 year journeyman with cleaning practice, and four semesters of study at a national technical school, your goal as a registered cleaning and hygienie technician can be achieved.
